Tracy Favre is a former organic inspector, with more than 25 years of experience in natural resource management, first as an environmental engineer and then in various positions in sustainable agriculture. Tracy joined QAI in 2016, and in her role as Director, she underscores QAI’s commitment to the organic community and integrity in the organic certification process. She served on the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) from 2012-2016, and acted as its chair in 2016. She and her husband own and manage Fig Hill Farm, a small, diversified family farm which includes bees, fruits and vegetables, heritage sheep, free-range chickens and two guardian donkeys. In her free time, she can usually be found elbow deep in canning fruit preserves, covered in mud or reading a good book.
Tracy holds an M.S. in sustainable development (emphasis in agriculture) from the University of London/Imperial College London and a B.S. In engineering from Texas A&M University. She is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas.
